New to Avenue A?

If this is your first visit to this site, or if you have not yet been to the teen center, this is a good place to start. Information about what Avenue A is (and equally as important, what it is not) as well as our guidelines and expectations can be found here.

Avenue A Teen Center

Avenue A Teen Center primarily serves Teens through 12th grade from the Great Brook and Con/Val towns. Operating with a drop-in format, Avenue A is designed to provide Teens a place to meet, hang out, and have fun with their peers – a place that is neither home nor school, a place that can be their own. At the Teen Center an opportunity is created to observe as well as demonstrate good role modeling, and to engage the community in positive ways.

Activities Include: A Great Pool Table, Foosball, Stereo & Video, Table Tennis, Air Hockey, a Juice and Snack Bar, Comfy Conversation Areas, Board and Card Games, Arts and Crafts, a Computer Workstation, and more.

Drop In Format: Teens are welcome to come and go during our regular hours. Most of our regular, open hours are dedicated to unscheduled time for Teens. Parents and guardians should make arrangements with their teens as to when it is appropriate to visit or leave the center.

Teen Action Committee and Fundraising Teams help in supporting our Teen Center financially as well as by spreading awareness within the community. Teens on the TAC have put on yard sales, a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, sold raffle tickets, attended town meetings, sold balloons and refreshments at the Home and Harvest Festival and maintained our Shaw’s Community Rewards program.

Other Activities Include

  • Open Mic Night
  • Knitting
  • Model Rocketry
  • Creative Writing
  • Macramé
  • Skateboarding
  • Dinner Party
  • Sailing

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, teens, parents, siblings and friends! Trade you - my milk chocolate for your Skittles, find me Nov 1st!

Back To School

The new school year is under way - let's hope they are all studying hard, and are GUSHINGLY thankful for the privilege of attending a US school. Free, and free from discrimination and persecution. Like eating 3 meals a day, and with a fork? Thank the people around you, and become a part of the community! (the sandbox site will get stranger before it goes live...)
